Coordinator's review

Acknowledgements

Thanks to everyone who made the event a success. In particular:

  • Overall weekend coordinator: Duncan Archer LOC (formerly CLOK)
  • Day 1 officials: Caroline & Alastair Mackenzie CLOK (organisers), Chris Mackenzie CLOK (planner), Keith Tonkin BL (controller), Ted Finch FVO (IOF advisor)
  • Day 2 officials - Boris Spence NN (organiser), Francis Shillitoe NATO (planner), Graham Nilsen DEE (controller)
  • Mulgrave Estates - Owners of all the competition terrain, and Saturday parking. Especially Richard Childerhouse the estate manager and John the tractor and ATV driver who helped lay tracking, move toilets, shuttle far start bags, and get cars out of the field.
  • Andrew Body - Owner of the relay day parking and arena fields.
  • Austen Floyd - Cleveland mountain rescue team member (who were providing first aid) who happened to also have a tow truck and offered his services to tow stuck cars out on relay day. His help was invaluable and we were extremely grateful for it at short notice.
  • VJ shoes - Donating elite prizes for the long, and premier class winners prizes for the relay
  • Podium Catering - Donating vouchers for selected elite winners in the long.

There were of course many more besides - various team leaders, and approximately 100 helpers on Saturday and 70 helpers on Sunday (some of which were from outside the region).

Lastly thanks to all you as competitors that give major events the atmosphere, for donating nearly £350 towards the Orienteering Foundation, and for bearing with us as we negotiated various challenges, especially the parking conditions.
